Peer reviewers with the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) will be on campus for a site visit on Nov. 18 and 19 and will be touring the Riverfront Campus. Dr. Lesley Cooper and Rylee Mann in the Institutional Effectiveness office have been preparing the Assurance Argument document with a team of faculty and staff. Now, it's time for everyone to get involved. Here's what you can do to help.
- Read and provide feedback.
- The assurance argument is comprised of five criteria. Each criteria have a document that needs to be reviewed in a professional, meaningful, and thoughtful way. The IE office will be launching drafts each month through April. Please read them and provide your feedback. The first document launches this month.
- Attend the kick-off party on Valentine's Day.
- We are ready to win your hearts! Join us for a launch party with Valentines, music, candy and prizes on Feb. 14 from 10-11 a.m. in the Iroquois Room.
- Help and you could win!
- If you read the documents, and provide professional, thoughtful feedback for criterion 1 and 2, you could be selected to receive some incredible items at the party. Including a $50 Amazon gift card and Fannie Mae chocolates. Recipients will be chosen during the party.
- In April, after all 5 criteria documents have been released, readers who provide professional, thoughtful feedback for at least 3 documents will be entered into a drawing for an Amazon Kindle at a Thanks-A-Latte event.
- Know some important things about KCC.
- The peer reviewer may ask any of us about KCC's mission, vision and values statements, or want to know if we can tell them about our general education goals and strategic priorities. It's a great time to learn, or refresh your memory about, these important components. A printed poster is available for easy reference.
- Review the poster and be ready – Dr. Boyd may stop you in the hallways for a pop quiz!
Questions about the visit can be directed to Dr. Lesley Cooper.
