Following is a summary of topics addressed at KCC's Board of Trustees meeting, Feb. 20, 2024.
Guests. The Board received the following guests:
Dr. Kay Green and Nicole Smolkovich joined the Board for a report and discussion from the Decennial Committee on Local Government Efficiency.
Action Items. The Board approved the following:
Request to solicit bids for WDC roadway improvements, security incident & event management software, and camera refresh
Tuition and fee increase of $5 per credit hour, effective for summer 2024
Additions and revisions to course fees, effective for summer 2024
Mental Health Technician certificate
Tuition and Course Reimbursements

Financial Aid is experiencing issues with its software refresh and its affecting applicants nationwide, but Kendra and our Financial Aid team are ready to help students and their families through any challenges.
The solar array is operating and generating power for campus. It is providing power for about 27% of the campus' total usage.
The nursing students' NCLEX pass rate is 100% this year.
Christa Agee and Maurice Sullivan recently hosted a Black Excellence Expo on campus and it was a well-attended event.
Fawn Hendershott, Executive Director of Uplifted Care, will be the Commencement speaker this year.
Athletics held the annual Cash Bash and it was a success.

ICCTA meeting will be held at KCC on March 8-9.
ICCTA's legislative goals for the year include local control, equity funding, baccalaureate degrees and preparing future workforce in Illinois.
