President's Report. Dr. Boyd said…

  • The $12 million Manufacturing Training Academy grant will drive programming and renovations to support workforce training. With the support, we will create an automation lab within the Industrial Technology Center; redevelop the Wind Lab in the Advanced Technology Education Center; and overhaul the Automotive Technology Lab to offer specialized training in troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of electric vehicles.
  • Enrollment is up 5.6%. We are trending up, but we still haven't returned to the pre-Covid enrollment numbers. The Strategic Enrollment Management committee's strategies are designed to keep climbing to at 7% enrollment increase.
  • The Employee Satisfaction Survey results typically show that KCC outperforms benchmarks with comparable colleges, but this year's results show that we especially exceeded the benchmarks this time.
  • It's always nice when other organizations take note when you're doing positive things. The Community College Research Center and Complete College America asked us to be a part of their research project and to share what we are doing to increase enrollment among students of color.

Trustee's Report. Brad Hove said …

  • The ICCTA meetings and Lobby Day are coming up for the trustees. Topics included dual credit, common course numbering and baccalaureate degrees at community colleges.
