Following is a summary of topics addressed at KCC's Board of Trustees meeting, Sept. 17, 2024.
Action Items. The Board approved the following:
- Request to accept grant awards.
- Request to proceed with architectural services for Phases 2 & 3 of renovations for the Manufacturing Training Academy.
- Resolutions honoring retirees Diane Buswell and Sharon Hoogstraat.
Information Items. The Board heard a report about the following:
- KCC Foundation update
- Fall 2024 Census Day Enrollment Report
President's Report. Dr. Boyd said…
- The Census Report shows enrollment is up 4.6 % in credit hours and 4.0% in headcount for the fall semester, with Hispanic student enrollment increasing 18.4% over last fall. The increases are a result of the Hispanic engagement efforts, and the planful work of the Strategic Enrollment Management Committee.
- Upcoming campus events include Free Food and FAFSA, College Fair and High School Counselor's Day.

- ICCTA meeting were held Sept. 13. Agenda included improving transfer articulation agreements with common course numbering, and dual credit and the K-12 system.

- Lady Cavaliers Volleyball hosted a Pack the Place game on Sept. 10.
- Student Life celebrated Mexican Independence Day on Sept. 16.
- Robert led his first Student Advisory Council meeting this week.
- A wiffle ball tournament is planned for Friday, Sept. 27.
- The Horticulture Club plans to create a haunted trail between main campus and West campus during Halloween.
