As transfer champions, it's vitally important that we build awareness of common transfer barriers and the diverse student needs and identities within our transfer populations. National Transfer Student Week offers the perfect opportunity to highlight transition struggles and successes and unite your campus partners to advocate for your specific transfer population. Join us for this annual event on October 21st – October 25th, 2024, to challenge assumptions, build empathy, and instill transfer pride on your campus” (National Institute for Study of Transfer Students).

  • October 22nd is Transfer University Spirit Day: Show off your transfer pride by sporting spirit wear from your transfer school or alma mater! Staff can wear KCC or Alma Mater shirts with jeans.
  • October 24th is The Amazing Race (11:30 – 1:00 PM): Staff are welcome to participate in the event. Register by emailing transfer@kcc.edu

Are you a transfer student from a community college to a university? Your success story deserves to be showcased! Advising is now accepting submissions for the transfer spotlight. Could you share the name of your community college, your major, and the university you transferred to, along with a photo you'd like to use? Once the flyer is created, you'll receive an email for approval, and then we'll print and deliver your flyer for you to proudly display on your office door, in your classroom, and more. Submit your story to advising@kcc.edu. Need inspiration? Feel free to request examples via email or stop by advising to see advisors' spotlights on their doors.
