Kankakee Community College and the Office of Student Life are excited to participate in an upcoming public awareness campaign.
The Red Flag Campaign addresses dating violence on campus and will kick off the week of October 21 and go through November 1. You will notice several small red flags displayed in KCC's main courtyard as teasers to spark students' interest.
The campaign is designed around a "bystander intervention" strategy, encouraging students to speak up when they notice red flags of dating violence in their friends' relationships. It also urges friends and other members of the campus community to "say something" when they see warning signs of dating violence. Throughout campus, you will see various marketing materials, along with information on KCC's Student Life webpage, focused on domestic violence awareness and prevention.
We believe you'll be excited to see how The Red Flag Campaign sparks interest and discussion on campus. The campaign is complemented by its official website, www.TheRedFlagCampaign.org, which provides valuable resources for students and campus personnel who want to learn more about dating violence and how to help.
