Following is a summary of topics addressed at KCC's Board of Trustees meeting, Jan. 21, 2025.
Action Items. The Board approved the following:
- Exterior signage and wayfinding
- Building shell repairs
- Computers from Apple and Dell Direct
- Board of Trustees policy revisions
- Grant awards
- Tuition and course reimbursements
President's Report. Dr. Boyd said…
- Though the temperatures are frigid, we are glad to be open and available for our college community.
- Congratulations to Dr. Melvina Calvin, who has been promoted to the rank of Sergeant in the City of Kankakee Police force. She is the first African American woman to receive the rank. Melvina is a professor and program coordinator for KCC's Law Enforcement program.
- Census Day enrollment report will be out next Tuesday, but preliminary results indicate that enrollment is trending upward.

- The next ICCTA meeting will take place in Lisle on March 14.
Student Trustee's Report. Robert Rogers said…
- Student Involvement Fair happened this week to get students involved in clubs and activities.
- Pizza with the Prez event that was held last December went well and garnered positive feedback.
