Board Notes - August 2025

Following is a summary of topics addressed at KCC's Board of Trustees meeting, Aug. 19, 2025.

Action Items. The Board approved the following:

• The Board of Trustee's meeting calendar for 2026
• Architectural services and request to bid Phase IV of the Manufacturing Training Academy renovations.
• Tuition and course reimbursements

President's Report. Dr. Boyd said…

• Faculty Inservice took place last week, and Fall classes are underway. There is an upbeat feeling on campus and it's good to have students back.
• A mobile EV charging unit, donated by Gotion, will be delivered Friday. Faculty and STEM Club students will have hands-on experiences with it this semester and beyond.
• Softball Coach Keith Cooper resigned recently, and Assistant Coach Alex Lagesse is moving into the role of head coach.
• A few events are coming up, including the Lady Cavaliers 1995 National Championship team reunion on Saturday, Aug. 23, the KCC Foundation's Fall Fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 20 and the KCC Employee Recognition event on Friday, Oct.10.
