2025 Halloween Competition

​Spooky season is upon us and you know what that means… it's time to start preparing for this year's Halloween Competition!

This annual competition is all in good fun and has three voting categories: Best Theme, Best Halloween Treats, and Best Individual Costume. If your department wants to throw your hat in the ring for Best Theme and/or Best Treat, please email Megan Ponton by Thursday, October 24^th.

Whether you've already been planning your theme for weeks or you're still waiting for your best idea to come to you, we hope you will participate! Previous winning themes include the Haunted Trail (PPD 2024), Welcome to the Jungle (Adult and Community Ed 2023), Super Mario (Financial Aid 2022), the Haunted Hammes Bookstore (2021), and Toy Story (Accounting/Business Office 2019).

Same as last year, media will take pictures of all the participating themes in the morning and then voting will open only after all pictures have been posted. Last year voting opened around 11:30am and closed at 1pm.

Those hoping to win best individual costume do not need to provide notice ahead of time. Rather, everyone votes for the costume they deem their favorite while walking around the building on Halloween morning.
