The library's eRead Illinois collection of ebooks and audiobooks, currently accessed through the Boundless app, will be undergoing a transition to a new platform in the coming weeks.  Due to the sudden closure of Baker & Taylor, who owned and operated the Boundless app, the app is being discontinued.  While a transition of this size would typically take months, the staff at eRead Illinois are moving quickly to minimize the interruption to your use of this collection.

In the coming weeks, the entire eRead Illinois collection will be migrated to a new platform called The Palace Project.  Here are some important dates to note:

  • Now - You can no longer place holds on the Boundless app. You may want to make a copy of your hold and wish lists.
  • Sunday, November 2 - This is the last day to check out items in the Boundless app.
  • Monday, November 17 - The Boundless app will stop functioning and be retired. Lists and check out history will no longer be accessible and will not transfer over to the new platform.
  • Tuesday, December 2 - The collection launches on The Palace Project app.  Download the app and begin checkouts on this date.
More information about the new platform will be available closer to launch.  We appreciate your patience and understanding as we set up the new product, learn how it works, and make updates to our website. Please reach out with any questions!
