Following is a summary of topics addressed at KCC's Board of Trustees meeting, Dec. 16, 2025.
Action Items. The Board approved the following:
- Adoption of the tax levy
- Acceptance of the first reading for Board of Trustees policy revisions
- Resolution to transfer working cash funds for capital projects
- Grant awards
- Easement at the North Extension Center
- Catholic Charities lease agreement at the North Extension Center
- Resolution honoring retirees John Shivers and Karen Slager
- Tuition and Course reimbursement
- Travel reimbursements
President's Report. Dr. Boyd said…
- Grant revenue streams help programs thrive and make college affordable for students. Recent awards include Mental Health Early Action, Perkins Leadership, WIOA Supplemental Funds and CEJA.
- President's Council Legislative agenda includes continued conversation around community college baccalaureate degrees, career integration, transfer, and local control
- Board interest survey is complete and education sessions around financial aid and scholarships, cyber security, and athletics recruiting will be arranged for in the coming months.
- Physical Plant Department is changing its name to Campus Operations to better reflect a modern campus nomenclature.

- The ICCTA is working with Lightcast to produce an economic impact study of community colleges in the state. They are finalizing the data and analysis. Results are expected to be shared in early 2026.
