With spring in full swing, so is our favorite season, scholarship season, that is.

The KCC Foundation is looking for faculty and staff to join us as scholarship readers. It's a simple but meaningful way to support our students.

You might be asking yourself,
"Okay, Katie… but what are you actually signing me up for?"
Don't worry! It's super straightforward, I promise.

  • Reading scholarship applications
  • Scoring students using a simple 1–4 rubric
  • Flexibility: complete reviews from your desk or your couch during the review window (May 2–May 15)
  • Review as many or as few applications as you'd like, there's no minimum or maximum

"Why should I volunteer though?"

  • You'll make a direct impact on student lives
  • Gain insight into what our students are actually going through
  • Be part of a meaningful campus-wide effort to support student success
  • Warm fuzzies and bragging rights

"How much time is this going to take?"
That will vary based on how many applications you choose to review!

"Will there be training?"
Yes! We'll be hosting a scholarship reader training on Monday, April 27 at 10:30 a.m. in Room D122 to walk you through everything you need to know.

If you're interested in participating or have questions, please email Katie Henry at khenry@kcc.edu.

Thank you for helping us invest in our students' futures.
