Following is a summary of topics addressed at KCC's Board of Trustees meeting, April 21, 2026.

Action Items. The Board approved the following:

• Salary increases of 4% for full and part-time staff (excluding hourly instructional staff) effective July 1, 2026 (reflected on the July 24 paydate). 
• Bid awards for locker room renovations, air conditioners for R Building, Con Ed catalogs and Crowdstrike software
• Bid awards for incident management software and roadway, parking lot and walkway repairs
• Architectural and Construction Management At-Risk services for renovations of L-Building third floor
• Solicitation of bids for Health Careers carpet
• Resolution honoring retiree David Cagle
• Tuition and Course reimbursements

President's Report. Dr. Boyd said…

• An appreciation luncheon is scheduled for employees who worked during the days following the tornado. Their recovery efforts helped us open quickly and use our Riverfront campus as Red Cross and Com Ed locations. 
• The virtual adjunct job fair is happening on April 29 and more than 200 people are registered.
• Work to repair building damages incurred during the tornado are underway on Riverfront campus, and at MITC and NEC.
• Radiography pinning is May 1, Nursing pinning is May 15, and commencement is May 16. 

Trustee's Report. Eric Peterson said…

• The ACCTA will host a Government Leadership Institute for new trustees. 
• All trustees are reminded to complete annual training.

Economic Impact Study results were shared and some notable points:

• $108.1 million: The impact of the increased earnings of KCC alumni and the businesses they work for 
• 1 out of 48 jobs in the KCC Service area is supported by the activities of KCC and its students. 
• $6,400: The average annual increase in earnings of a KCC associate degree graduation compared to someone with a high school diploma working in Illinois.
