​The U.S. Department of Justice has extended the deadline for compliance with WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) until April 26, 2027.

WCAG 2.1 AA is a set of rules that helps make websites, apps, and digital content--including PDFs--easier for people with disabilities to see, understand, and use. Following WCAG is the law, and it hasn't changed. There is just a new compliance deadline.

What this means for KCC

• Everyone at the college is expected to make workflow and other changes to be compliant. See www.kcc.edu/accessibility for examples of what needs to be accessible and how to accomplish that.
  
• If you haven't already, complete the required Online Accessibility Training. The request to participate in training is in your email on March 4. It was sent by "Kankakee Community College" and the subject line is "Reminder of Online Trainings assigned to you." If you don't have the email, contact Tierra Dixon-Sullivan.
