After 15 years of dedication, leadership, and helping our campus grow, George is retiring and he is absolutely worth the guac.

Please join us as we shell-ebrate George's retirement with a taco party on May 13 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Hammes Café, outside the Hammes Bookstore. We'll spice things up with good food, good company, and well wishes for his journey ahead.

George first joined Kankakee Community College on August 23, 2010, as an adjunct instructor teaching Horticulture for the Fall semester. What began as one semester quickly grew into a lasting relationship, as George continued teaching and sharing his knowledge year after year.

In 2012, George became full-time Coordinator for Grounds & Horticulture Management, where he kept campus looking its best while cultivating spaces we enjoy every day. On January 1, 2023, he became Assistant Director, recognizing the leadership, expertise, and steady presence he brought to the role.

From classrooms to flower beds, George has planted roots across KCC. His years of service have made a lasting impact, and while we'll miss him, it's time to salsa-brate everything he has accomplished.
