Following is a summary of topics addressed at KCC's Board of Trustees meeting, May 19, 2026.

Action Items. The Board approved the following:

• Salary increases of 4% for full- and part-time staff (excluding hourly instructional staff) effective July 1, 2026 (reflected on the July 24 paydate). 
  
• Bid requests for MITC rooftop HVAC, window replacements, science supplies and VMWare
  
• Bid awards for Health Careers carpet.
• Roof replacement project
  
• Electrified Vehicle I certificate
• Resolutions honoring retirees Steve DePasquale, Sherry Kinzler and George Mateja.

President's Report. Dr. Boyd said…

• Commencement was an awesome day on campus. Kudos to the Student Affairs team who coordinated all the details. It's a day to reflect on the importance of the work we all do.
  
• Summer hours began this week. Staff are working four 10-hour days through July. Summer enrollment is trending up.
  
• Jackie Haas recognized KCC for its disaster recovery efforts. 
  
• Betty Meents will celebrate her 99^th birthday on June 14. She served on the Board of Trustees for more than 30 years. 
  

Trustee's Report. Todd Widholm said…

• ICCTA met on May 6. Discussion items included the community college baccalaureate degree and PATH funding renewal. The next meeting will take place in Lombard in June.
